Chinn-Griffin

Holy Family Church, Hannibal, was the setting Dec. 13, 2014, for the wedding of Brooke Elizabeth Chinn and James “Jay” Robert Griffin III, both of St. Louis.

Parents of the bride are William Chinn, Moberly, and Diane and Gregory Addison, Hannibal. The groom’s parents are Cindi and Terry Vollmer, St. Louis, and Robert Griffin II, of Tampa, Fla.

The bride’s grandparents are Bernard and Barbara Greenwell, Shelbina, the late Donald and Mable Chinn, Clarence, and Larry and Kathy Addison of Monroe City.

Father Michael Quinn served as the celebrant for the evening ceremony. Organist Hedy Rothfuss and the bride’s cousins, Fletcher Speiser, guitarist, and Olivia Greenwell, trumpeter, provided music for the ceremony.  

Dr. Tracy Myers, cousin of the bride, and Bernadette Speiser, aunt of the bride, read scripture passages.  Cooper Helm, friend of the bride, and Quintin Greenwell, cousin of the bride, passed out programs and presided at the guest book.

Lauren Schmitz, college roommate and sorority sister of the bride, was matron of honor.

Bridemaids were Claire Griffin, sister of the groom, and Raegan Helm, friend of the bride.

Matthew Jeffries, friend of the groom, acted as best man. Alex Addison, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Ring bearers were Finn Blackburn, nephew of the groom, and Miles Pohl, friend of the couple.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at the Hannibal Country Club.  

Prenuptial showers for the bride were held in St. Louis and Hannibal.

The bride and groom vacationed in Hawaii for their honeymoon.

The bride is an elementary school counselor in Parkway School District, St. Louis. The groom is employed in management with the Hyatt Hotel Corporation.
