On Nov. 21, 1956, Glenn Lee Campbell and Carolyn Anne James were united in marriage at the home of Paul and Virginia James, Paris, Mo. Also in attendance were Raymond and Lizzy Campbell, along with siblings of the bride and groom. The couple honeymooned in Hermann, Mo.

Glenn served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Seattle, Wash. Upon his discharge, the couple moved to St. Louis, Mo. Glenn managed Frostwood IGA and Carol worked for McDonnell Douglass and Sears.

In 1970 the family was moved to Hannibal, where Glenn owned and operated Glenn's Conoco in the Huck Finn Shopping Center for several years. He also worked at Mills Auto Parts, then worked for American Cyanamid (currently BASF), where he retired. Glenn is the definition of “Jack of all Trades,” skilled mechanic, carpenter and woodworker. He loves spending time with his family and working on any projects where his skills are needed and gives his time unconditionally.

Carol has always worked throughout the marriage but always put her family first. She sold Avon locally for many years and won multiple awards. She worked for General Finance for several years and eventually was comptroller for Star Radio, Quincy, Ill., from where she retired. She was an active member of the Business & Professional Women's group and was awarded “Woman of the Year” for her service. Carol has taught Sunday school for many years at Park United Methodist Church. She has influenced many youngsters with her service to the church. Carol has always been deeply involved with church and volunteers for many other community endeavors. She is happiest when surrounded by family; her cooking skills guarantee that family will be there to share time together.

Glenn and Carol are amazing parents and in-laws to Don, Gary, Jeff and Brenda Campbell.

They are loving grandparents to Kacey and Myles Compton, Huntsville, Ala.; Brooke and Justin Gibson, Hannibal; Brandon and Andrea Campbell, Hannibal; Megan and Josh Angel, Ash Grove, Mo.; Brittany Campbell, Victoria Campbell and Lyndsay Campbell of Hannibal.

They are also loving great-grandparents to McKenzie and Madi Gibson, Finley Compton, Jonathan Campbell, Keaton Presly, Jacob, Mathew and Nolan Angel.

A family celebration was held at Fiddlestiks Food & Spirits on Nov. 5, 2016.

Cards of congratulations can be sent to the couple's home at 34 Sherwood Estates, Hannibal, Mo. 63401.

Our family is truly blessed to have such an amazing example of what parents, in-laws, grandparents and great-grandparents can be.

We love you, Nanny and PaPa.
