QUINCY, Ill. — Madison Park Christian Church will host the Southern Gospel group known as the Perrys at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at 4700 Broadway in Quincy, Ill.

There is no ticket needed, but a free will offering will be taken to help with the group's expenses.

The Perrys first sang as a professional group in 1970 and started as a brother and sisters group. In time, it became a group that had Libby Perry Stuffle and her husband, Tracy Stuffle, and other non-family members. This group became known as one who could deliver powerful hand-clapping songs like “I Wish I Could Have Been There,” and songs that brought tears like “If You Knew Him.”

They have won Doves and Grammys for their music, along with several of awards from their audience at the National Quartet Convention. Many have compared them to the Happy Goodman Family, for the power and joy in their performances.

Six years ago, Tracy Stuffle suffered a heart attack and two major strokes, making necessary a long recovery and continual therapy to recover his voice and the ability to travel. He passed away a year-and-a-half ago. His son, Jared, has taken his dad's place on stage, singing bass with his mom, who sings alto. Andrew Goldman is a steady lead singer who handles everything thrown at him with ease. Troy Peach is a professional at baritone and emceeing. This isn't his first visit to Quincy — he accompanied the Steeles several years ago in the WTJR auditorium.

The goal of the Perrys is to share Jesus in their music and actions. But it follows that they also want to show that God can work all things for our good and for His Glory.

The concert begins at 7 p.m., and the doors open at 6 p.m. Madison Park Christian Church is all on one level, with no steps to negotiate. There is plenty of level, well-lit parking, and a large amount of comfortable seating.

Bring your family, your neighbors, your Sunday School class, your youth group, your nursing home, or a bus load of friends. These concerts appeal to all ages and will bless anybody who comes.
