Wanda Jean Ely, 81, of Hannibal passed away at 7:45 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2020, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Michael Neff will officiate.

Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Friends and family are invited to Wanda's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services, Monday at the funeral home.

Wanda was born June 15, 1938, in Hannibal, to Harry Thomas McLeod and Agnes Lorine Closser McLeod.

She was married to Joseph McAfee Ely on June 25, 1965, in Quincy, Ill. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2003.

Survivors include one son, Ron Mathew Ely of Hannibal, two daughters in law, Lilly McLeod, Dianna McLeod, two brothers, Russell McLeod (Lois), Jimmy McLeod (Mary), three sisters, Bonnie Oglesby, Carolyn Leezy (Richard) and Debbie McLeod and one sister in law, Veda McLeod. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Emma McLeod, Dakeeta Planty, Manolito Jones (Sarah), Kevan Powell, Anthony McLeod (Amber) and five great grandchildren, Nadiya Planty, Cassidy Powell, Giana Powell, Alexandria Jones and Lennox McLeod and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Michael Anthony McLeod and Kevin Wayne McLeod, one sister, Mildred Dillman, one brother, Bobby Joe McLeod, two brothers in law, Vernon Dillman, Sr. and William Oglesby and her beloved brothers and sisters in law from the Ely family.

Professionally Wanda worked as a dietary aide, working at Beth Haven Nursing Home for many years.

Wanda enjoyed music from Branson music shows to Music Under the Stars, but most of all she loved to hear her son Kevin sing with his band, Rock N Roll Revival. Spending time with her dogs Teddy and Izzy or shopping at rummage sales for a deal were a few of Wanda's favorites.

Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Wanda was formerly a member of the Apostolic Holiness Church and really enjoyed her pastor there, the late Rev. Gary Legg.

Pallbearers will be Robbie McLeod, Chris Oglesby, Brian Oglesby, John Bailey, Aaron Fix and Richard Leezy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch.
