Obituary: Ruth E. Roberts, AUG. 25, 1924 — MAY, 19, 2020

Ruth E. Roberts, 95, of Center, Missouri, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal, Missouri.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2020, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. 

Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Missouri.

Friends and family are invited to Ruth’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ruth was born August 25, 1924, in Pike County, Missouri to Cecil Mallett and Lula Utterback Mallett.

She was married to Sterling Roberts on February 28, 1953, in Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death in April 13, 1994.

Survivors include three children, Jim Roberts (Debbie) of Center, Missouri, Steve Roberts (Bonnie) of Rensselaer, Missouri and Gary Roberts (Wendy) of Center, Missouri; and one brother, Donald Mallett of LaGrange, Missouri.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gloria Wucinich.

Ruth retired as a bookkeeper for NECCA in New London, Missouri.

Ruth loved her family. Away from work she enjoyed occasional visits to the casino to play the slots. Reading, gardening and moments shared with her pet dogs were a few of Ruth's favorites. Most of all Ruth simply enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Ruth was a Christian by faith.
