Amanda Kay Johnston, 32, of Monroe City, Mo., passed away at 6:49 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Arrangement for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, Mo.

The family will plan a life celebration for Amanda at a later date.

Amanda was born February 29, 1988, in Hannibal, to Sandra Brooks. 

Survivors include her mother, Sandra Brooks (Shawn) of Monroe City, Mo.; five children, Clayton Nobe, Bailee Bock, Evaline Johnston, Aiden McClintick and Sthela Johnston; two brothers, Jonathan Varvil and Dakota Dixon; three sisters, Jennifer Brooks, Angel Johnston and Ida Worrell; nieces and nephews, DJ, Korina, Mary, Toni, J.J., Cayla, Cacey, Aunna and Letty; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Amanda now joins those who loved her, two friends, Joseph Bock and Billy Hoover; grandma, Iline Tresch; pa-pa, Charlie Tresch; grandma, Mary; pet kitty, "Mittens;" and pet dog, "Bear."

Amanda most recently worked at Cerro Flow as an RLS machine operator in Shelbina, Mo.

Amanda enjoyed fishing throughout the area's lakes and rivers. She was always up for a road trip. Amanda loved her five beautiful children. A wonderful cook, Amanda loved to make spaghetti and garlic bread for her family. Listening to music in her car, singing karaoke and the color purple were a few of Amanda's favorites. Most of all she simply cherished her family and friends.

Amanda was Christian by faith.
