HANNIBAL — Fire Prevention Week is here, and the Hannibal Fire Department would like to remind everyone the value of having an escape plan in place, before an emergency strikes.

Fire escape plans can be as simple as a hand drawing of your house with a pencil and paper. Things to include in your escape plan are the following:

  • Two ways out of the house and a meeting place for all your family to gather

  • Make sure that you have working smoke alarms on all levels of your house.

  • Practice your escape plan at different times of the day and night.
