HPD announces parking restrictions for July 4th

Runners take off during the 2016 Hannibal Cannibal event in downtown Hannibal. The Hannibal Police Department reminds residents and visitors there will be no parking along the course routes from 2 a.m. Saturday, July 4 until the conclusion of the Hannibal Cannibal and parade.

HANNIBAL | The Hannibal Police Department would like to inform the public of the parking restrictions for the Hannibal Cannibal and parade on July 4th. There will be no parking along the course routes starting at 2 a.m. Saturday, July 4, to the conclusion of the Hannibal Cannibal and parade. 

Officers will be contacting businesses along the Hannibal Cannibal and parade route the evening of Friday, July 3, to inform them of the parking restrictions. Any vehicle found parked along the route, two hours prior to the event, may be subject to tow. The Hannibal Police Department is looking for the public's cooperation in this matter. 

The Hannibal Cannibal will start at 6 a.m. at North and Main Streets. It will go down South Main Street to Church then across the Third Street overpass. It will then head out of town on MO 79 where runners will turn and come back in the city on the same route. MO 79 will be completely shut down at MO 79 and Church Street until the end of the race. 

The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at Broadway and Grand Avenue. It will travel east on Broadway to Main Street, then south on Main Street to Church Street where it will end.
