Burton receives 2020-2021 P.E.O. STAR Scholarship

HANNIBAL | The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year was presented to Blair Isabella Burton, a senior at Hannibal High School.

Burton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Burton and was recommended for this scholarship by Chapter JH of Hannibal. Burton accepted the scholarship and will attend Missouri State University, where she plans to study Cell and Molecular Biology beginning this fall.

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating seniors at the time of application. A student must be recommended by a P.E.O. Chapter.

MONROE CITY, MO. | Reginald T. Evans, 39, of Troy, Mo., suffered serious injuries in a Kawasaki UTV accident at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, in rural Ralls County. He went by private vehicle to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
