AmerenUE is replacing natural gas lines throughout Clarksville.
Work began last week and includes replacing PVC pipe with newer lines. The project started in the southern part of the community and will work its way north.
The work should be completed by October, and is one component of a larger infrastructure improvement plan.
Aldermen last week finalized a contract with Klingner & Associates of Quincy, Ill., to help the city work on lagoon treatment permit issues, renovations to the water, sewer and storm water systems, and flood prevention.
Klingner will secure funding to pay for the work. The lagoon will be the first project.
