Quincy standoff ends peacefully

A 10-hour standoff ended peacefully Thursday night when a man who had barricaded himself inside a house surrendered to authorities.
There were no injuries. Taken into custody was 39-year-old Randy Black. He will undergo a mental evaluation, authorities said.
The incident began about 11 a.m. at 6111 Ewbanks Road near Interstate 172 on the far northeast side of Quincy. Black’s mother came out of the house at 7 p.m. and Black followed shortly before 9:30.
The investigation continues and charges are pending. Another unidentified men was arrested by police during the standoff for allegedly interfering.
