Wet pavement is being cited as the cause of a one-vehicle accident that left a Monroe City woman with minor injuries Monday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the mishap happened at 9:10 a.m. on U.S. 24, east of Missouri 107. A 2002 Oldsmobile was being driven east by Naa Benson, 27, when she lost control of the vehicle on the wet road. The vehicle ran off the road where it struck a ditch and fence.
Benson, who was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident, was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
