John Thomas Bleigh and Amy Nicole Fox were married at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park, Colo., at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Amy is the daughter of Dave and Connie Fox of Hannibal. John is the son of Tom and Jane Bleigh of Hannibal. Grandmothers are Martha O’Dear, Betty Fox, Lois Lewton and Dorothy Bleigh, all of Hannibal.
The Rev. Michael Lewton, uncle of the groom, officiated at the ceremony. Stephanie O’Dear, aunt of the bride, was the vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Amy wore a silk/satin ball gown with a rouched bodice, a swarski crystal beaded basque waistline, and a chapel train. Her pearl necklace was a gift from her maternal grandparents, and her pearl and diamond earrings were a gift from the groom.
Man and matron of honor were David and Lindsey Fox, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, of Valdosta, Ga. Best men were Shawn Brown of Wentzville, Mo., and Darren Moniot, of Haleiwa, Hawaii, friends of the groom. Saber bearers were Jason Borges, Brandon Reil, Joe Stabely, Pete Martinez, Mark Thornton, and David Smethurst.
The bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday night at the Twin Owls Steakhouse in Estes Park. A dinner reception and dance were held at the Lodge following the ceremony. A prenuptial shower was given at Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Hannibal by Judy Harding, Shirley Ward, Sharon Lewton, Sarah Grueber and Jenny Zehring.
Amy is a 1998 graduate of Hannibal High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor of science degree in secondary science education. She earned a master’s in instructional technology from the University of Colorado in Denver in 2008. She will be teaching biology at Parker High School in Colorado Springs this fall.
John is a 1996 graduate of Hannibal High School and a 2000 graduate of the United States Military Academy with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. He is currently a captain in the United States Army, stationed in Fort Carson, Colo.
After a honeymoon in Costa Rica, John and Amy are living in Colorado Springs.
