Karla Coellner and John Bergthold were married on Friday, May 13, 2011, on the beach in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The seaside ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Andre John, and was immediately followed by a champagne and cake reception held in the resort’s courtyard against the backdrop of the Caribbean Sea. The newlyweds then enjoyed a Catamaran ride that included a dip in the clear blue waters just off of the shore. The evening ended with an intimate candlelit dinner on the resort’s private island.
Karla is the daughter of Suzanne Duff of Scranton, Iowa, and Mick (Janet) Coellner of Hubbard, Iowa. John is the son of the late Carl Bergthold, and Jerily (Marty) Hull of Hannibal, Mo. Karla will graduate from Iowa State University in the spring with a degree in family finance, housing and policy and will work for Modern Woodmen of America. John is employed with the Union Pacific Railroad. The couple resides in Ankeny, Iowa.
