Sara Frances Guidry and Geoffrey Carr Morthland were united in marriage at 7 p.m., Dec. 3, 2011, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Lake Charles, La. Officiant of the double-ring ceremony was Monsignor Daniel A. Torres.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky T. (Tricia) Guidry of Lake Charles, La., and the granddaughter of Mrs. Barbara Ross of Mangham, La., and Mr. Alex Guidry of Iowa, La.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. (Corliss) Morthland of Hannibal, Mo., and the grandson of Mrs. Maxine Morthland of Monroe City, Mo.
A graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School (Lake Charles), Louisiana State University, and Loyola College of Law, Sara is a human resources and recruitment administrator for Infinium Capital Management in Chicago, Ill.
A graduate of Hannibal Senior High School, University of Missouri-Columbia, and Loyola College of Law, Geoffrey is an attorney for Bravo Investments in Chicago.
Maids of honor were Kelsey and Anna Guidry, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Allyson Morthland, sister of the groom; Emily Mitchell, cousin of the bride; Mia Vick, Kayli Clements, Maggie Layrisson and Adrienne Gilbert, friends of the bride.
The flower girl was Madeline Mitchell, cousin of the groom, and the ring bearer was Talon McGee, godson of the bride.
Best man was John Morthland, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Philip Novara, Jason Linnenbrink, Nick Blue, Zac Wenneker, Vince Typaldos, Michael D’Angelo and Joe Bonebrake, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Ben Granger, Jesse Ewert, Michael Champlin and Bogie Spruill, friends of the groom.
Locally, Sara and Geoffrey were honored with a couples’ shower hosted by Jim and Mary Jae, Chase and Jane Hickman, Schuyler and Laurie Metlis, Stevens and Cindy Plowman, Kim and Lisa Shores, and Ed and Cindy Wenneker at the home of Kim and Lisa Shores. A luncheon shower was given for Sara at the Hannibal Country Club hosted by Cherie Blue, Michele Brown and Sue Dorsey.
After a honeymoon in St. Maarten, the newlyweds will be residing in Chicago.
