Ashley Diane Carter and Gordon Ellet Harrison, II were united in marriage on July 11, 2009. The ceremony was held at Clover Road Christian Church with Wes Tischer and John Tischer officiating. The reception was held at the Star Theatre.
Ashley is the daughter of Perry and Lisa Carter, Hannibal. Gordon is the son of Dr. Gordon and Lynette Harrison, Kan., and Jim and Shelly Yeager, Montana.
Amber Carter, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Harrison, sister of the groom; Jennifer Schwartz and Megan Gilbert. Candle lighters were Brooklynn Hawkinson, cousin of the bride, and Victoria Harrison, sister of the groom. Flower girls were Olivia Mears, cousin of the bride and Taylor Brunelle, niece of the groom.
Steven Doeschot, St. Louis, served as best man. Groomsmen were John Horman, St. Louis; Austin Carter, brother of the bride and Gordon Harrison Sr., father of the groom. Ushers were Timothy Yeager, brother of the groom, Dalton Hawkinson, cousin of the bride, Patrick Hedges and Michael Gilbert. Ring bearer was Carter Hawkinson, cousin of the bride.
Vocalists were John Tischer and Jessica Spurgeon and were accompanied on the piano by Connie Ballard. Other musicians were Jessica Spurgeon, flutist and Ryan Gilmore, ukulele. Wedding coordinator was Faye Bleigh. The guest book and programs were attended by Brittany and Megan Tischer, cousins of the bride.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday, July 10, on the Mark Twain Riverboat.
Ashley is a 2003 graduate of Hannibal High School and a 2007 graduate of Truman State University with a B.S. in nursing. She is employed as an RN at the Marion County Health Department. Gordon is a 2003 graduate of Skyview High School in Billings, Mont., and a 2008 graduate of Truman State University with a B.A. in art history. He is currently working as an art conservator.
Following a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Hannibal.
