Carrie Elizabeth Durst and Jeremy Michael McLeod were united in marriage on Nov. 1, 2008, at the Moon Palace Resort, Riviera Maya, Mexico. Carrie was delivered to a beachfront gazebo in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by her father. Padre Carlos Santani officiated the ceremony, which was held overlooking the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Carrie and Jeremy were joined in Mexico by friends and family for the ceremony. Laura Durst, sister of the bride, and Stephanie Valbracht, friend of the bride, were Carrie’s attendants. The groom’s bothers, Dylan and Ryan McLeod, along with the bride’s youngest brother, Matthew Durst, served as groomsmen. After the simple ceremony, the bride and groom were toasted with champagne before the wedding party embarked on a sunset cruise, provided by the groom’s family, to the Isle Mujeres. The couple then enjoyed a few more relaxing days honeymooning in Mexico before returning home.
On Nov. 15, 2008, a dinner reception was held at the Old Hickory Country Club in St. Peters, Mo. Music for dancing was provided by TKO DJs of St. Louis. Friends and family who could not attend the ceremony in Mexico were showered with pictures and stories of the ceremony.
Carrie, a 2000 graduate of Hannibal High school, is the daughter of Marjie Durst of Hannibal and David Durst of Hull, Ill. She is employed by Goetz Dental as a sales representative. Jeremy, a 1998 graduate of Plano Senior High, Plano, Texas, is the son of Michael and Terry McLeod of Chesterfield, Mo. He is employed by Juggle, Inc., as a project manager.
They couple now makes their home in St. Louis.
