South Shelby picked up its fifth straight win Friday night. Taking on Clark County at home, the Lady Birds won 66-47. South Shelby is now 5-0 on the season. Jenna Mueller paced the Lady Birds with 17 points. Also chipping in were Ashley Troyer (14 points) and Lexie Wilt (11 points).
“It was a pretty good game,” South Shelby head coach Milly Rash said. “We got a little sloppy in the fourth quarter and let them score too many points, but other than that ,,, it was OK.”

Marion Co. 46
Canton 41
Three players reached double figures in scoring to help the Marion County Lady Mustangs beat Canton on Friday. Jordan Johnson, Jessica Redd and Ranay Sharpe each had 10 points to lead Marion County to a 46-41 win. The Lady Mustangs led the entire way and outscored Canton every quarter but the fourth.

South Shelby 51
The South Shelby boys dug a big hole for themselves on Friday night. The Cardinals tried to dig out of it, and cut the Clark County lead to within four, but couldn’t complete the comeback and lost 60-51. Marcus Milner had 21 points and Shannon Hall had 10 for the now 2-3 Cardinals.
“The kids played hard and fought hard and worked their way back in to the game, but we’re still figuring things out,” South Shelby head coach Tyler Clark said.

Canton 49
Marion Co. 35
Marion County dominated the first quarter Friday night against Canton. The Tigers took over the second and won the game 49-35. The Mustangs led 10-2 after eight minutes, but Canton scored 16 points in quarter No. 2 to enter half time up 18-13. The lead carried over to help Canton win. Marion County was led offensively by Nathan Wikoswky, who had 11 points.

Palmyra 54
Unity 47
Palmyra evened up its record at 4-4 with a 54-47 win Friday night. The Lady Panthers struggled in the first half and trailed 27-23 at the half. In the second half, Palmyra got better and picked up the win. Taylor Baxter led all scorers with 21 points. Liz Stansberry also added nine for Palmyra.
“I thought the longer we played, the better we looked,” Palmyra head coach Kent O’Laughlin said.
