While the Hannibal Pirates didn’t have to wait very long at all for Bradley Osborne to score a fifth-minute goal off of Matt Flanigan, the wait for a 1-0 victory against the Fulton Hornets Tuesday night was a little more nerve-wracking, Hannibal head coach Eric Hill said.
“To be able to come out and get that goal early, and then to be able to make that goal stand and get the win is a real testament to the defense that we played and everybody getting back and doing their jobs,” Hill said.
Hill said his squad, who lost earlier this season 2-0 to the Hornets at home, looked like it was in prime form.
“As far as playing a full 80 minutes, this is the best I’ve seen them play all season,” Hill said. “We played hard, aggressive soccer.”
