The Hannibal Pirates participated in the Camdenton tournament over the weekend.
On Friday the Pirates played Camdenton and lost 5-4. The game started out 3-0 and the Pirates came back 3-2 at halftime. After halftime Camdenton scored again making it 4-2. The Pirates tied it up but lost in overtime. Goals came from Brandt Parker with two, Tyler White with one, and his assist came from Josh Cookson, and Elliot Meyer with one.
Kyle Bowman started in goal and had six saves, but was injured. Jake Stamp filled in and finished with three saves.
On Saturday the Pirates faced Springfield Catholic, the No. 5 team in Class 1. The Pirates won 2-1.
Elliot Meyer scored off a free kick placed around the wall from the far post. Tyler White scored on a penalty kick after Springfield had a handball in the box.
The score was 2-1 at half and no goals were scored after. Jack Stamp played goal with 12 saves.
In the final game versus Sullivan, the Pirates won 6-0. Gabriel Noguez had two goals, Josh Cookson had two, Elliott Meyer had one and Bradley Osborne had one with assists from Matt Flanigan, Edward Gregg and Brandt Parker.
Jake Stamp had three saves and Eli Jackson had two.
The Pirates finished second in the tournament behind Camdenton.
Their record is now 9-6. They play again with JV starting first at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at home against Kirksville.
