The Mark Twain girls’ softball team finished off an undefeated first week of the season by beating Hallsville on the road 4-3.
Offensively, Abbie Pettitt lead the team, going 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs. Also with the hot bat were Kachina Hudson and Sarah Alexander, who were both 1-for-3 with doubles.
The win brings the Lady Tigers to 3-0 on the season so far.
Head coach Brooke Hudson said that the team went into the game a little blind.
“We’d never played them, so we didn’t know what they were like, but we knew they are a strong team,” she said. “We were just able to put the bat on the ball and capitalize on their errors.”
