WESTRAN —

Despite being held to just three hits, South Shelby defeated Milan, 2-1, to advance to Thursday’s district championship game.
The Cardinals got both runs in the second inning. After a lead-off single, Mitch Greenwell stole second and then scored on a one-out single by Bryce Johnston. Johnston would then steal second and third – scoring on an errant throw to third.
Jordan Bowman picked up the victory, throwing a complete game three-hitter with five walks and five strikeouts.
The Cardinals (11-6) will play Carrolton at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Westran in the district championship game.
