The Hannibal 9/10 football team pulled away in the second half for a 26-12 win at Moberly on Monday night.

Courtland Watson raced for a 45-yard punt return for Hannibal's lone touchdown of the first half. The game was tied at 6 at the intermission.

After the Pirates recovered a fumble in the second half, John Clubine scored a rushing touchdown to give Hannibal the lead.

Kaiser Greenwell then recovered an onside kick, and Watson scored on a run play to put Hannibal ahead 20-6.

The Pirates' defense held for a turnover on downs.

Hannibal got the ball back with three minutes left and converted a fourth down on a pass from Watson to Cameron Neisen. Clubine punched in the Pirates' final touchdown of the night.

Moberly's last touchdown came on a kickoff return as time expired.

Andre Thomas and Clubine led the Hannibal rushing attack, with Thomas breaking off several long runs.

“The offensive line played well in the muddy conditions and the defense yet again played lights-out most of the game after some adjustments,” Hannibal coach Kyle Arthaud said.
