The Hannibal volleyball team remained undefeated on the season with a sweep of Mexico in a North Central Missouri Conference match Thursday night.

Kaylee Falconer led the way with four aces, four kills, six set assists and six digs in the 25-18, 25-15 win at Korf Gymnasium.

Hannibal improves to 4-0 and 2-0 in NCMC.

“Kaylee had a great game all the way around,” Hannibal coach Kelsey Whitley said of the junior. “She sets and she hits and she plays defense. She does it kind of quietly but did a nice job tonight.”

Claire Thomas and Abby Baumann paced the front row with seven and six kills, respectively. Kyler Rademan contributed nine set assists, four digs and an ace. Maddie Janes recorded a team-high nine digs, while Haley Ballinger added two aces and five digs.

Hannibal maintained the lead throughout both sets but never fully took control against the improved Lady Bulldogs.

“Our chemistry was a little off and I'm not quite sure what it was,” Whitley said. “The effort was there but we weren't clicking like we normally do. We don't have any time to dwell on it because we have a big tournament coming up this weekend.”

Hannibal is scheduled to play at the Rockwood Summit Tournament on Saturday.
