Dezi Jones scored 32 points to help the Pirates secure seventh place.

Hannibal (6-7) led 28-27 at halftime before exploding for 24 points in the third quarter to take command.

“We had a great defensive effort in the third quarter, which led to some layups in transition,” Hannibal coach Marty Hull said. “All of our big men did a great job of rebounding.”

Preston Bennett and Wyatt Waelder each delivered 3-pointers in the third, while Jones made two of his own.

Bennett tossed in 15 points in the win, while Waelder was the third Pirate in double figures with 10.

Garik Hill led Elsberry with 20 points.

Hannibal plays at Boonville on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
