Karson Westhoff paced Hannibal by completing the 1 1/2 mile course in a time of 10:16 to earn 14th place in a field of 92 runners. Kolin Westhoff followed in 10:45 for 27th, while Kason Bonvillian crossed one second later to take 28th overall.
Rounding out the Pirates' top runners were Jacob Chapman (10:52), Corgan Kramer (10:57), Jace Utterback (11:30) and Cameron Nichols (11:38).
Olivia Rawlings led the HMS Lady Pirates to a sixth-place team finish.
Rawlings crossed in 12 minutes even to take 16th place. Following her for Hannibal were Katie Locke (12:27, 22nd) and Lilly Gander (13:20, 36th).
Rounding out the Lady Pirates were Allyson Gibbs-Utterback (16:11), Emily McKim (16:44), Payton Hess (16:45) and Haley Hess (16:52).
Ten Hannibal boys also competed in a mixed race, which Pirate Andrew Catalpa won in 10:46.
Macen Mitchell placed 15th in 12:06. Ethan Beroiza crossed in 12:25 for 18th, while Connor Arnold finished with a time of 12:56.07 for 25th to narrowly beat out teammate Jack Pociask (12:56.44, 26th).
Rounding out the Pirates in the mixed run were Caleb Wheeler (13:03), Corbyn Immegart (13:41), Keaton Lewton (13:59), Jacob Gerard (14:04) and Garrett Heaton (17:14).
HMS runners compete at Oakley Invite
The HMS boys placed sixth and girls took eighth at the 2-mile Tom Oakley Invite in Quincy on Saturday.
Karson Westhoff was the top runner for Hannibal with a time of 13:07, good for 27th overall in a field of 105 competitors. Right behind him were Catalpa (13:37, 34th), Kolin Westhoff (13:51, 38th) and Chapman (13:53, 39th).
Rounding out the Pirates were Nichols (14:17), Kramer (14:18), Mitchell (14:32), Utterback (15:11), Beroiza (15:15), Arnold (16:23), Lewton (16:46), Pociask (17:21), Wheeler (18:29), Immegart (18:29), Gerard (18:29) and Heaton (20:48).
Rawlings turned in the Lady Pirates' best time at 15:16 to finish 32nd, while Locke (15:34, 38th) and Gander (15:42, 40th) crossed soon after. Also running for the girls were Gibbs-Utterback (19:17), McKim (20:33), Payton Hess (21:17) and Haley Hess (21:59).
