The Hannibal volleyball team got back on track Saturday with a home sweep of North Central Missouri Conference rival Marshall.
Kaylee Falconer led the charge.
The sophomore finished with a match-high nine assists, seven digs and five aces to help the Lady Pirates (11-7) to a 25-9, 25-13 romp.
“Kaylee Falconer has come alive,” Hannibal coach Kelsey Whitley said. “She is such a solid athlete, and as a sophomore to come up with some of the plays that she does, continues to impress me. After a hard summer off due to a hip injury, she has worked very hard to come back 100 percent.
“Kaylee has proved herself yet again as a force to be reckoned with and a person of importance on the court.”
Claire Thomas and Shelby Nelson combined for five blocks for Hannibal, while Nelson, Peyton Utterback and Maddie Janes each finished with five kills a piece.
Haley Ballinger made six digs, and Kyler Rademan dished out eight assists.
With the win, the Lady Pirates bounced back from consecutive losses to Quincy Notre Dame and Rock Bridge.
“I hope that a win after a few tough losses will bring them back up to speed,” Whitley said. “They are full of talent, and I look forward to some consistency for the rest of the season.”
Hannibal faces Fulton on the road Thursday before competing in the Quincy Tournament on Saturday.
“I look forward to this weekend at the QHS tournament where we will face some competitive teams and focus on postseason play,” the coach added.
