The Hannibal 7th grade football team put 30 points on the board in the first half Tuesday night en route to a 36-30 win over Moberly at Porter Stadium.

Markell Humphrey came up big with all five touchdowns for the Pirates.

The standout capped off Hannibal's first drive with a 35-yard score across the open field to knot the game 7-all after the visitors ran back the opening kickoff.

Moberly found the end zone again to go up 14-7 before Humphrey countered back with a 15-yard touchdown.

The Hannibal defense got a stop on Moberly's next drive, and Humphrey scampered 75 yards for a touchdown with one minute remaining in the first half.

That's when Drew Porter entered the equation.

The Hannibal kicker booted an onside kick and recovered it himself. Three plays later, Humphrey reversed field to punch in a 55-yard touchdown to give the Pirates a 30-14 halftime edge.

Humphrey scored once more for Hannibal in the second half, but Moberly wouldn't go away.

The Spartans battled back within 36-30 and attempted an inside kick with 30 seconds remaining in the game. Briley Cunningham pounced on the ball, allowing Hannibal to secure the win with a QB kneel.

Dontaevion Caldwell gained nearly 100 yards on the ground for Hannibal and also provided solid blocks for Humphrey, according to coach Kyle Artaud.

Isaac Tentori and AJ Herrin each had a sack.
