The Monroe City offense scored early and often Thursday evening in a 12-2 romp over visiting South Shelby.
The Lady Panthers scored eight runs in the first two innings, including a 5-run frame in the second. Freshmen Bailee Hays and Riley Quinn combined to collect four hits and knock in six runs in the five-inning win.
Hays finished 3-for-4 and three RBI. Quinn recorded a double as she has recorded an extra base hit in three of the last four game.
“It’s just really fun watching them play,” Lady Panthers coach Melissa Chinn said. “Other teams will not get a break with our lineup.”
Haleigh St. Clair added a double and two RBI as the Panthers pounded out 12 hits in the win.
McKenzie West recorded nine punchouts during her first four innings to pick up the win in the circle, while Quinn pitched the final frame.
