The Palmyra girls tennis team continued its early season success Thursday evening by blanking Kirksville, 9-0.

Raegan Barnett improved to 8-0 on the season on the No. 4 singles court with an impressive 10-0 win. Lady Panthers top singles player Kendra Maples also bageled her opponent, 10-0.

“Raeagan and Kendra both played really well today as neither gave up a single game,” Lady Panthers coach Jessica Gottman noted.

Emmy Griesbaum, Amy Bryan and Robby Meyers all picked up wins by identical 10-1 scores at No. 2, 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

After missing Tuesday’s match, No. 3 singles player Lauryn Wear returned to the court with a 10-8 win. It was the only close match of the day.

“It was good to have Lauryn back and she was able to beat the girl who she lost to last week in a tiebreaker,” the Lady Panthers coach said.

Maples and Griesbaum upped their No. 1 doubles record to 8-0 on the season with a 10-3 win. Barnett and Bryan cruised to a 10-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Wear and Meyers won 10-2 at No. 3 doubles.
