Big hits, good pitching and solid defense paved the way to the Palmyra softball team’s sixth win of the season Tuesday night.
Brooke Wilson collected three hits and knocked home five runs as the Lady Panthers came away with an 8-1 victory over Clarence Cannon Conference foe Clark County.
Wilson capped a 6-run second inning with a 3-run shot to center.
“Brooke had a great night at the plate and was well-disciplined,” Lady Panthers coach Jill Arch said.
Alana Comstock earned the win inside the circle. The junior scattered five hits and fanned six in the complete game.
“Alana pitched well and her defense was exceptional behind her tonight,” Arch said. “Clark hit the ball well all night, but our defense was up to the challenge.”
Baylee Anderson finished 2-for-4 at the dish, including a double.
Megan Stone, Lexi Arch and Grace Watson collected the other three hits for Palmyra in the win.
The Lady Panthers (6-2) travel to Bowling Green on Thursday.
