The Hannibal Middle School track and field teams hosted the Huck Finn and Molly Brown Relays on Saturday at Porter Stadium.

The Hannibal Middle School track and field teams hosted the Huck Finn and Molly Brown Relays on Saturday at Porter Stadium.

The event was split into four divisions based on grade and gender.

Hannibal 7th grade girls win division 

The Hannibal 7th grade girls finished first in its eight-team division, totaling 139 points to beat out runner-up Lewis and Clark, which scored 122.5. 

The Lady Pirate throwers served as an anchor that lifted the squad to victory. Anna Echternacht won the discus (69-08) and shot put (32-05.50), while Lydia McCammon placed third and fourth, respectively, in the same events.

Bella Falconer had a big day, winning the pole vault (6-06.00) and triple jump (27-04.50) while also placing top three in the long jump and 100 meters. 

Kaydence Stewart and Aliviah Williams tied for fourth in the 100 meter dash at 14.43. They finished second and third in the 200 meters, and Williams also took second (26-05.00) in the triple jump.

Emma Haner won the high jump at 4-02.00, while Jade Thomas placed fourth in 100 meters with a time of 19.20. 

Hannibal 7th grade boys take second at home meet

The Hannibal 7th grade boys earned runner-up honors with 118.5 points, trailing only Lewis and Clark, which won with 135. 

Keaton Scott paced the Pirates with a first-place finish in the mile at 5:23.26 and 800 meters with a time of 2:30.37.

Hannibal's relay squad of Brayson Douglas, Harry Oden, Tyler Hardy and Tanner VanWinkle finished first in the 4x200 meters (1:56.74) and second in the 4x100 (56.43).

Kaiser Greenwell won the pole vault competition at 7-06.00, while Hardy placed second at 7 feet even.

Greenwell and Courtland Watson finished second and third with distances of 32-04.00 and 30-09.00, respectively, in the triple jump. 

Watson finished second in the 100 meter hurdles (18.01), while VanWinkle finished right behind in 18.40 seconds for third. In addition, Watson placed second in the 400 meter dash (1:02.07) and fourth in the 200 meter dash (27.17). 

Trevor Wilson placed fourth in the long jump (15-00.00) and fifth in the discus (77-03), while Greenwell took sixth in the long jump (14-01.00). 

Hart leads Hannibal 8th grade girls to second 

The Hannibal 8th grade girls finished with 83 team points to place second in their 11-team division, trailing first-place Moberly (97) and just beating out third-place Quincy (81). 

Sydney Hart won three events to lead the Lady Pirates. She placed first in the 100 meter dash in 17.49 seconds, pole vault at 8 feet even and triple jump at 31 feet even. She also placed second in the 400 meters.

Cami Bross won the high jump at 4-06.00, while Alayna Sutter took sixth in the long jump and Illecia Williams finished seventh in shot put.

Alexia Gonzales and Ally Hull placed sixth and seventh in the 800 meter run. In addition, both finished top 6 in the mile race. 

HMS 8th grade boys finish fourth 

The Hannibal 8th grade boys landed in fourth place out of 11 teams, finishing with 90 team points.

Lewis and Clark won first with a score of 115.

Miles McIntyre placed first in the pole vault at 8 feet even, while Mason Hudson finished second at 7-06.00.

Dylan Admire tied for first in the long jump at 16-05.00 and placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.62 seconds.

Daylan Reading earned fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles (17.54) and discus (99-09) and seventh in the 200 meter dash.

Reading tied for fifth in the high jump at 4-10.00 with teammate Landon Cooke, who also took fifth in the 400 meters at 1:02.44.

Other top finishes for the Pirates included Damien French (fourth in 100 meter dash), Joey Worthington (fourth in triple jump) and Dylan Cheadle (fourth in shot put).
