The Pirates won two of three doubles matches but went 2-4 in singles play. 

Joe Karlinski and Adam Ledbetter each won their singles matches. Karlinski downed his opponent 6-4, 6-1, while Ledbetter won a tight one by a score of 4-6, 7-5 (10-4). 

Caleb Northcutt, the Pirates No. 1 player, lost 6-4, 6-4; Austin Taylor lost 6-3, 6-0; Caleb Lionberger lost 6-2, 6-0; and John Maune lost 6-2, 7-5.

In doubles, Taylor and Ledbetter won 6-4, 6-4; Karlinski and Maune took their match 6-2, 6-0; and Northcutt and Lionberger lost 6-4, 6-0.

"Tough loss for us," Hannibal coach Bob Catalpa said. "I was happy we won two out of three doubles matches and lost a couple close singles matches.

In junior varsity action, Ethan Bross and Luke Boyd won 8-5; Donovan Mefford and Caleb Newlon won 9-8 (8-6); Collin Poage and Shane Grimes lost 9-8 (7-3); Austin Brown won 8-5; Nick Tompkins won 8-3; and Grimes lost 8-6.
