Dezi Jones scored 21 points but the Hannibal Pirates lost 92-65 to North Central Missouri Conference foe Boonville on the road Tuesday night. 

Boonville raced ahead by 12 points after the first quarter and never gave the lead back, maintaining a 44-32 advantage into halftime before tacking on 48 more in the second half.

Noah Zahn scored 14 of his 18 points in the second quarter in an effort to keep Hannibal in the game. Jones then nailed three 3-pointers over the final two quarters, and John Trenhaile netted all six of his points in the fourth. 

But the Boonville attack, featuring five scorers in double digits, refused to relent. Alec Adair led with a game-high 25 points, while Riley Lang scored 21 and Nick Zeitlow finished with 17.

Aside from his 21 points for Hannibal, Jones also dished out seven assists and came down with eight boards. Chris Buckner scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while Devias Douglas scored four points and collected seven rebounds.

Hannibal hosts Moberly at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
