The No. 6 Palmyra Panthers lost a 64-63 heartbreaker to No. 4 Canton to finish in fourth place at the 74th annual Tony Lenzini Tournament on Saturday.

Palmyra led 17-16 after the first quarter and went into the halftime break down by two points.

At the end of the third quarter, the game was knotted at 45.

Koy Smith scored six of his game-high 20 points in the final period to help the Tigers nudge the Panthers by a single tally. 

Senior Casch Doyle led Palmyra with 17 points. Nolan Wosman finished with 12 points, while Ragar Plunkett scored 10 and Peyton Plunkett had nine. Laithan Sublette (8) and Ragar McKinney (7) rounded out the Panthers' scoring.

Palmyra faces Brookfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
