Hannibal, MO —

A Make-and-Take art project to benefit Special Olympics will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at Rooster’s Crow Art Center, 221 Bird St., Hannibal.
Jennifer NolinWinkler will demonstrate beaded jewelry making.  For a $5 contribution, participants will create a bracelet and the proceeds will be used to benefit a personal project Jennifer has championed for, Special Olympics.
Jennifer has been oil painting for about four years. With the money she has earned selling her art, Jennifer was able to purchase and finance the maintenance and care of her own horse.
The 2-year-old draft, named Bam Bam, is saddle trained to give rides to Special Olympics athletes.  Jennifer will utilize proceeds from this fundraiser to have a specialized cart built that will hold a wheel chair. Children who are wheelchair-bound will then also be able to take a ride on the trained horse’s cart during Special Olympics events.
