Hannibal, MO —

Hannibal Clinic Health Services would like to thank everyone involved in making Ride Cool 2008 and Ride Cool at the Ramp Park such huge successes. This year, nearly 500 area youths received a free bicycle or multi-sport helmet and an event t-shirt, while learning about the importance of helmet safety.
Children and teens learned to ‘Ride Cool,’ putting safety first by wearing helmets and other protective gear, as well as how to follow the rules when riding bikes, skateboards and scooters.  These ideas were emphasized by local riders at the Ramp Park on May 12.  There, riders performed gravity defying flips, twists and turns on their bikes, skateboards, and scooters in their new Pro-Tec helmets. Dr. Justin Bubolz demonstrated the importance of wearing a helmet with his egg drop demonstrations at Ride Cool on May 10.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors who, once again, provided financial and volunteer support to these events.  Big thanks go out to Hannibal Clinic, General Mills, Hannibal Police Department, Wade Stables Accounting, Wal-Mart, Midwest Orthopedic Specialists, Northeast Missouri Imaging Associates, The Hannibal Courier Post, Northeast Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center, Safe Kids, F.A.C.T., Hannibal Parks & Recreation, KHQA and 97.9 KICK-FM.   This event could not have taken place without the help of over 70 dedicated volunteers associated with our sponsors. Everyone, from kids to parents, had a fun time learning about helmet safety!
Thank you for helping make Ride Cool such a great success!
