Charles Jackson (C.J.) Allen

Graveside services for Charles Jackson (C.J.) Allen, 65, of Perry, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Lick Creek Cemetery, Perry, with the Rev. Kenny Sharp officiating.
No visitation is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home of Perry.
Mr. Allen passed away at 7:40 a.m. July 2, 2008, at his home.
He was born April 26, 1943 in Hannibal, the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Bailey Allen.
He was married to Norma Fay Swon on July 23, 1963, in Perry, and she preceded him in death July 12, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Jeff Shires of Chesterton, Ind., and Amy and Eric Epperson of Knightdale, N.C.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Bud) and Wanda Allen, and James (Jim) and Shirley Allen, all of Perry; and one granddaughter, Trinadi Shires of Chesterton, Ind.
Mr. Allen was a lifetime area resident and 1961 graduate of Mark Twain High School. He had been employed by the local phone company as a technician for 21 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, finding genealogical information and spending time with his family.
