Robert Scott “Bob” Higgins, 79, of Hannibal, died at 1:05 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal. 
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Clover Road Christian Church in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial with full military rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. 
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Higgins was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Barry, Ill., to Louis Robert and Minerva Ann McCarl Higgins.
He was married to Anna Mae Dark on Aug. 17, 1950, in Barry, Ill. She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 1996.
Survivors include five children, Michael Higgins, Roberta  Hufford,  Larry Higgins, David Higgins and Barbara Mills; a special friend, George Smith; and two grandchildren, Carly Anna Mills and Samantha Michelle Higgins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Russell Higgins; and one son in law, Bobby Hufford.
Mr. Higgins was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Higgins retired from International Paper. He later worked for over 11 years at the YMCA. Mr. Higgins loved the St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid fan. He was an active member of  Clover Road Christian Church. He was also a member of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Clover Road Christian Church, in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Wes Tischer, George Smith, Kenny Glascock, Carl Bowler, Kenny Owens and Lynn Miller.
