Naomi Ladeen Wagner, 87, of Monroe City, passed away at 5:06 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at the National Health Center in Maryland Heights.
She was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Morgan County, the daughter of Hugh Barton and Flora Hester NeWright Groff. She attended Morgan County Country Schools. She lived in St. Charles, where she worked for McDonald-Douglas-Boeing as an inspector.
In 1982 she moved to Versailles and later to Monroe City in 1988. Mot recently she was a patient at the National Health Center in Maryland Heights. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Monroe City and the AFLCIO Local 837 in St. Louis.
She was married to Harold Dewey Wagner May 15, 1954, in St. Louis. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Wayne Wagner and wife, Cathy, Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Marilyn Wamble and husband, William, St. Charles; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Houser of Versailles; one son-in-law, Ralph Severs, Monroe City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Sue Severs; and three sisters, Dorcie Walters, Fern O’Neal and Ruby Rippy.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. today, July 3, at Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, with the Rev. Rebecca Peak officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 4, at Hopewell Cemetery near Versailles with the Rev. Randy Smith officiates.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Washford, William Wamble, Rick Wamble and Ralph Severs. Gary Matthews will be an honorary pallbearer.
