Ronald William Howe

Ronald William Howe, 76,  of La Grange, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. He was formerly of Paris and Taylor and Quincy.
Ronald William Howe was born on March 13, 1932, in St. Louis, the son of Orlando and Madge Webb Howe. Ron was raised in the Paris area. He married Juanita Smith and later married Nancy Foley.
Ron attended Smiser and Goss one-room schools and graduated from Paris High School in 1950. He left Paris and worked at Litteral and then at Gardner Denver Foundry in LaGrange for 43 ½ years. He often had a second job, including at Swartz Implement in Palmyra, Canton Implement in Canton and his beloved Ron’s Paint Shop.
 He was a member of the Paris Christian Church and later the La Grange Christian Church. Ron was formerly a Cub Scout Leader in La Grange, a member of the Quincy Volunteer Emergency Corp, the CB Club and the Holiday Travelers in Quincy, America’s Hometown Good Sams in Hannibal, the Elks, Eagles and Moose clubs in both Hannibal and Quincy and UCT. He loved his family, visiting with people, dancing, traveling and cutting grass. Ron also enjoyed volunteering at the Quincy Salvation Army during Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Ron was survived by his wife, Nancy, of La Grange; four sons, Wayne H. (Susan), David R. and Steven D. Howe, all of Quincy, and Darron (Angie) Howe of DeKalb, Ill.; five stepchildren, Michael and Mark (Sherri) Foley, both of Quincy, Jayne (Robert) Kunz and Matthew (Tina) Foley, both of Springfield, and Patrick (Michelle) Foley of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Dawn (James) Barren, Jill (Daniel) Havermale, Hope Lenane, Ryan, Stacy and Tracy Howe, Beth (Gary) Rickey, and Trisha and Austin Howe and Shawn, Aaron and Brandon Howe; stepgrandchildren, Michael Howard, Erin, Jacob and Adam Foley, Meghan, Elizabeth and Caitlyn Kunz, Shannon, Cassidy, McKenzie and Dylan Foley, Ember Foley, and Simon and Spencer Foley; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Howe, Spencer and Ashley Havermale, Tyler Howe, Coby and Kylie Rickey.
Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, at the La Grange Christian Church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the La Grange Christian Church with the Rev. Christian Penrod officiating. Committal services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris.
