Theresa Kay Tonsor, 62, of Indian Creek Community near Monroe City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 29, 1947, in Hannibal, the daughter of Donald (Pete) and Ruth Mildred Betz.
She attended school at Mark Twain Schools in Ralls County. She was a member of the Salt River First Christian Church, New London. Mrs. Tonsor worked for the Hannibal Social Security office as a receptionist for 30 years. She previously worked for Standard Printing Company of Hannibal and the Monroe City Sheltered Workshop. She married Harold Patrick Tonsor, June 16, 1976, in New London. He survives. She enjoyed tractor pulling, good music and dancing.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother, Ruth Mildred Betz, New London; two daughters, Debbie Ann Black, Vandalia and Carrie Talley and husband Dan, Laddonia; one step-daughter, Lisa Perry, Moberly; five sisters, Connie Miller, New London, Carmen Johnson, New London, Donna Shulse, Venter, Jane Charlton and husband Ronnie, Hannibal and Carol Cox and husband Gilbert, Hannibal; one granddaughter, Brittany Black, Vandalia; four step-grandchildren, Ashley, Derrick and Cody Agee, Moberly and Lindsey Yancey, Mexico, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Deana Betz Pritchett; one nephew, John A. Clarkson IV; one great-niece, Mya Miller; three brothers-in-law, E. Wayne Miller, Bill Shulse and Terry W. Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City. Rev. Roger Huff and Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Burial will be at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Monroe City. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Nov. 18, at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be JC Shoemeyer, Clem James, Gary Turnbull, Pritchett Sutro, Donnie Wayne Miller and Karl Patrick Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Delaporte, Ronnie Charlton, Kenny Spurgeon and Johnny Bill Thompson.
Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.
