Wrennie Wayne Dudding, 76, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center.
Born Feb. 8, 1933, in New London, he was the son of Wren and Esther Amy (Dowell) Dudding. On Sept. 20, 1952, in Hannibal, he married Gerlene See who preceded him in death April 28, 2007. Also preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Michael Dudding on Sept. 21, 1998; a granddaughter, Amanda Brooke Dudding; one brother, Dallas Dudding and two sisters, Lois Blackston and Lucille Peters.
Surviving are three daughters, Cyndi Stocks and husband Don of Lawson, Mo., Gina Fry and husband Mark of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Stacey Clevenger and husband Bennie of Lawson, Mo.; one sister, May Neer of Richmond, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dudding attended public schools and graduated from high school in New London. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict in the United States Army and was honorable discharged receiving the rank of Corporal. He worked as a truck driver for several years before going to work for Burlington-Northern Railroad. He transferred to the Kansas City facility and retired in 1988. Wrennie was a member of the Vibbard Christian Union Church, American Legion and the Elk’s Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, traveling, hunting, fishing and farming.
Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Visitation will follow the service until 8:30 p.m. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society.
