Carolyn E. Smith, 52, of Hannibal, died at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Levering Regional Healthcare Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor George Hinch will officiate. Burial will be at Barkley Cemetery in New London.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Carolyn was born Feb. 15, 1957, in Hannibal, to Charles L. and Naomi L. Hinch Smith.
Survivors include one son, James L. Keith of Hannibal; special friend, Larry Keith of Hannibal; five sisters, Mary Paxton (John) of Hannibal, Elva Lee Campbell of Hannibal, Georgia Short (Luke) of Hannibal, Gloria Blackwell (Jerry) of Decatur, Ill., and Vicki Harris (Danny) of New London; two brothers, James K. Smith of Hannibal, Leslie Smith (Cindy) of Hannibal; sister-in-law, Carol E. Smith of Hannibal; two grandchildren, Kammarhaleigh and Ja’Sauyha Minor and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Perry C. Smith.
Carolyn worked as a certified nurse’s aide and medical technician at Levering Hospital, Hannibal Care Group and Homeward Bound. She loved music and enjoyed singing. She liked to write poetry and loved to spend time with her family. Carolyn attended the First Church of the Nazarene.
