Melissa E. Whittaker Gerry, 39, of Hannibal, died at 10:42 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Center Cemetery in Center.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gerry was born May 24, 1968, in Hannibal to David and Martha Sue Shanks Whittaker.
She was married to Donald E. Gerry on June 4, 1998. He survives.
Other survivors include her father, David Whittaker; longtime boyfriend, Calvin Robinson; one daughter, Brittany Whittaker (Justin); two brothers, Delmar Whittaker and David Whittaker Jr.; four sisters, Margetta Lain (Bill), Mary Watkins (Ronnie Cox), Ida Allen (Phillip) and Rose Elzea (Kelly); three stepsons, Donnie Robinson (Jamie), Justin Robinson, Michael Robinson (Tammy); three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Mrs. Gerry had worked as a housekeeper at the Days Inn, Beth Haven Nursing Home and Miller’s Group Home. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and walking. Mrs. Gerry was a Christian by faith.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Robinson, Mike Robinson, Kevin Lain, Andy Lain, Bill Lain and Justin Leffert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kris Whittaker, Donnie Whittaker, Kelly Elzea Jr., J.R. Hawn, Kelsey Brown and Marvin Watkins Jr.
