Darrell E. Adrian, 72, of Woodstock, Ill., formerly of Hannibal, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Father Mike Quinn will officiate.
The James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Adrian was born July 13, 1936, in Hannibal to Dorse E. and Thelma L. Bershire Adrian. He was previously married to Martha Mudd, and she survives.
Survivors include one son, Dan E. Adrian (Michelle) of Lake In The Hills, Ill.; one daughter, Janet E. Smith (Donald) of Grand Island, Neb.; and grandchildren, Dalton Adrian, Brayden Adrian, Megan Wright, Riley Smith, Julie Smith, Donovan Smith and Caitlin Smith.
Darrell worked in the banking business and served the community of Hannibal in many different areas. He was on the advisory board and member of St. Elizabeth Hospital until the consolidation of the two hospitals in Hannibal. He was past president of the United Way of Hannibal, past president of Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau, president of Downtown Relocation Committee for the City of Hannibal and on the Flood Levee Committee, past member and on the board of directors of Hannibal Free Public Library and Chamber of Commerce. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Adrian was a member of Fifth Street Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, in care of James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Bowen, Todd Lear, David McIntyre, Ken Gregor and O.C. Latta.
