Martha L. Beshears

Martha L. Beshears, 75, of Bucyrus, Mo., and formerly of Hannibal, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Brother Justin Mosher will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beshears was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Houston, Mo., to Clarence and Irena Van Dusen Nelson.
She was married to George R. Beshears on June 5, 1975. He preceded her in death Sept. 13, 2009.
Survivors include one son, George A. Beshears (Brenda) of Hannibal; one brother, John Nelson (Marge) of New London, Mo.; three sisters, Linda Smith (Kenny) of Hannibal, Joyce Shelton (Dean) of Ellis Prairie, Mo., Dona Wheeler (Lynn) of Bucyrus, Mo.; two grandchildren, Angie Privett (Lance) and Dr. Kathy Asbury (Karl); two great-grandchildren, Lanie Privett and Konnor Asbury; special nephew, Marvin Dean Shelton of Bucyrus, Mo.; special niece, Brenda Gayle Allen of Summerville, Mo., and several other nieces and nephews and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two half sisters, Jenny and Frances; one brother, Austin; and one nephew, Alan Kinnaird.
Mrs. Beshears was a waitress for several years and worked at H.D. Lee Company in Houston, Mo. She loved to quilt and liked to gamble and play games. Mrs. Beshears especially enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She was a Baptist by faith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Houston, Mo., in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Dean Shelton, Kenny Smith, Karl Asbury, Lance Privett, William Epperson and Harry Lee Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Allen, Dean Shelton, Lynn Wheeler, John Nelson and Darren Clark.
