Floyd E. Martin Jr., 74, of Hannibal, went to be with his Lord at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at his home.

Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at the Akers Chapel Cemetery in rural Pike County, Ill. Mr. John Wallingsford will officiate. There will be no visitation.

The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Floyd was born May 9, 1944, in Baylis, Ill., to Floyd  E. Martin Sr. and Margaret Godert Martin.

He was married to the love of his life, Carol Wallingsford, on May 4, 1970, in Hannibal. She survives.

Other survivors include two children, Floyd E. Martin (Joanne) of Hannibal and Toni Bramblett (Travis) of Hannibal; one sister, Edna Lambert; two grandchildren, Brandi Martin of Hannibal and Joshua Bramblett of Hannibal; and a special nephew, John Wallingsford, who took Floyd to his first Cardinals baseball game. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, JoAnn and Dorothy Jean; one brother-in-law, Ravid, and a niece, Sherri.

Floyd simply loved to spend time with his family. Cookouts and fish fries were always times Floyd enjoyed. Listening to old country music on one of his jukeboxes or catching an old western movie were also activities Floyd loved.

Most of all, however, he cherished the moments he shared with his family. Floyd especially took pride in spoiling his grandchildren.

Floyd was a Christian by faith.

Pallbearers will be Floyd's son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, nephew, and brother-in-law.
