Cecilia Ann White, 79, of rural Palmyra in Marion County passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 at the Luther Manor Nursing Home, Hannibal.

Cecilia Ann White, 79, of rural Palmyra in Marion County passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 at the Luther Manor Nursing Home, Hannibal.

She was born Nov. 2,1938 in Maquoketa, Iowa the daughter of Cyril and Rosella Teshak Eckelberg.

Mrs. White was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Monroe City, The Msgr. Connolly Circle No. 105, The Daughters of Isabella and friends of Brush Creek. She was a member of the Fr. Augustine Tolton Guild and the Ralls County Historical Society. Mrs. White loved the history of the Mississippi River Valley. Her hobbies were wildlife, nature, music, horses, Civil War and Indian reenactments, antiques and flowers. She attended rural schools High School and Hannibal Vo-Tech. She was a Certified Nurses Assistant. She previously worked for the Monroe City Manor, Levering Home, Hannibal, and then Home Health Care.

She married Harry Francis White on Feb. 3, 1962, at St. Peters Brush Creek Church, Ralls County, he preceded her in death March 1, 1984.

Survivors include one son, Jesse White; and one daughter, Anna Marla Slayer; two grandsons, Evan and Matthew, all of Ely.

One brother, Cyril Eckelberg Jr. of Clinton, Iowa, one sister Benadette Eckleberg of Muscatine, Iowa. Also survived by one nephew, William and Jacey Eckleberg; and son, Bennyn Eckleberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monroe City. Fr. Greg Oligschlaeger will officiate, graveside services will follow at the St. Jude Cemetery, Monroe City. Visitation will be Tuesday morning 9 a.m. until time of services at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Rick Foster, Ron Foster, Jim Underhill, John Hancock, John Rubinson and Bill Potterfield. Memorials have been suggested to the Preservation of St. Peters Brush Creek.
