Shirley M. Epley, 82, of Fall Creek, Ill., passed away at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Shirley M. Epley, 82, of Fall Creek, Ill., passed away at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Minister Nathan Munger will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Friends and family are invited to Shirley's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Shirley was born March 4, 1936, in Hannibal to Russell and Beulah Elizabeth Francis Sagester Pope.

She was married to Carl "Buck" Epley on June 26, 1956, in Hannibal. He survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Cathy Blacketer of Fall Creek, Ill.; four grandchildren, Richard Epley (Andrea), Lisa Sturtevant (Dan), Justin Blacketer, and Brittany Fazio (Jason); four great-grandchildren, Brandon Epley (Dakota), Jeremy Epley, Tyler Sturtevant and Matt Sturtevant; and one great-great-grandchild, Sofia Epley. Shirley is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Russell Pope; and six sisters, Sylvia Tallman, Martha Tourney, Pearl Culp, Virginia Collins, Betty Harris and Lucille Hunt.

Shirley operated Main Fisheries of Hannibal with her husband, Carl. Away from work, Shirley enjoyed being outside. She loved to watch the river roll by from the East Hannibal river bank.

Shirley also liked to watch the hummingbirds, care for her flowers, and even feed the neighborhood raccoons regularly. Shirley rarely missed watching her favorite soap operas or game shows on TV. An excellent cook, Shirley's family always enjoyed her home cooking.

Shirley's family was her world. She always enjoyed the time they shared together.

Shirley was a Christian by faith.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Epley, Jason Fazio, Justin Blacketer, Dan Sturtevant, Chuck Epley and Randy Epley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Epley, Jeremy Epley, Tyler Sturtevant and Matt Sturtevant.
